Job Description

The Senior Director, Chief Security Officer will provide leadership and support for the strategy and execution of global security initiatives at Sandisk. The role will be accountable for leading teams that will provide effective security solutions and risk‑mitigation plans supporting Sandisk’s people, facilities, and intellectual property. This position reports to the Chief Legal Officer and leads the development and maturation of Sandisk’s global security organization, including people, process, and technology, that supports our growth, culture, and long‑term strategy.

This position will provide leadership expertise to develop and scale security initiatives to manage risk and provide practical solutions across our global footprint, specifically overseeing all security policies, processes, operations, and teams. We seek an experienced security leader and dynamic manager who values service delivery and employee experience to lead this team and enable the business. This leader will build a vision grounded in risk management to support the company’s accountability to shareholders, business goals, and execution strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead global, enterprise‑wide security programs and continuously scale mitigation strategies to address evolving risks.
• Develop and implement strategy, governance, processes, and practices for physical security, security operations, security systems and technology, executive protection, travel security, event security, threat management, intelligence, security‑incident response, crisis management, insider threat, security training and awareness, supply‑chain security, and security investigations.
• Serve as the senior most incident commander and crisis manager for security‑related incidents at Sandisk.
• Strategically attract, retain, and develop talent; craft and implement sustainable organizational resilience via proactive succession planning.
• Deliver leadership and accountability to Sandisk’s executive leadership, engaging as appropriate with the Board of Directors, including the Audit Committee and Compensation and Talent Committee.
• Maintain a strong network and drive strategic engagement with government contacts (e.g., FBI/DSAC, State Dept./OSAC, local and international law enforcement), industry partners, peer companies, and private and public‑sector peer groups (e.g., ISMA, security working groups).
• Partner closely with Legal, People Experience, and other stakeholder groups to conduct security investigations relating to policy violations, misconduct, criminal activity, workplace threats, and other potential risks to Sandisk and employees.
• Oversee the global security budget, including staffing and capital expenditures, to support the overall strategy.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally as the expert in security‑related risk management to develop clear and practical risk‑based strategies that support our business needs.

• Drive operational efficiencies, standardized security services, and seamless cross‑functional collaboration across the global ecosystem.
• Exhibit crisis leadership and sound decision‑making under pressure and in ambiguous environments.
• Deep understanding of all facets of enterprise security matters.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, government agencies, and security peers.
• Select and manage third‑party vendors to protect employees, corporate assets, IP, and facilities.
• Lead protective services functions (e.g., executive protection, travel security, event security).
• Demonstrate strong leadership, guidance, and team‑building skills.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in corporate security, law enforcement, and/or military, with at least 5 years of corporate‑security leadership, including direct support of C‑suite executives preferred.
• Proven experience managing global security operations for multinational enterprises, preferably with experience overseeing security operations in Asia.
• Demonstrated expertise in executive protection and program management for VIP security.
• Strong background in risk assessment, crisis management, emergency response, and security technologies.

Preferred:

• Law enforcement and/or intelligence background.
• Professional certifications (CPP, CBCP, ITPM, and others).
• Eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is determined by several factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs. The salary range represents the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting and may be modified in the future.

• Participation in Sandisk's Short‑Term Incentive (STI) Plan and potentially the Long‑Term Incentive (LTI) program, subject to eligibility.
