Description
About GondolaBio

GondolaBio is a standalone rare disease innovator, formed as a spin-out from BridgeBio, with independent governance, capital, and leadership. GondolaBio is focused on developing breakthrough therapeutics for diseases with genetically defined targets. The portfolio includes several clinical-stage programs, with growing franchises across genetic specialties, neurology, and renal. The company leverages cutting-edge biological research to discover, create, test, and deliver transformative medicines to treat patients, with a purpose-built discovery and development engine. The company is well capitalized, with funding from leading investors.

Who You Are

You are a strategy-first, transaction-capable biopharma professional who combines independent judgment, rigorous analytics, scientific literacy, and commercial insight. You can compare very different assets on a common basis, identify the most compelling strategic choices, and translate uncertainty into actionable recommendations. You are comfortable modeling and structuring complex transactions without treating deal execution as the only path to value creation. You thrive in lean teams, work closely with R&D and Finance, and approach every choice through patient impact and long-term value.

Key Responsibilities

Integrated portfolio strategy: Develop cross-portfolio analyses to inform strategic priorities, portfolio balance, capital allocation, and value creation across a multi-asset, multi-therapeutic-area portfolio. Evaluate financing and partnering pathways in collaboration with R&D, Finance, and program teams.

Strategy and decision support: Serve as a strategic and analytical partner to the leadership team; frame enterprise-level questions and translate incomplete scientific, commercial, and financial information into clear, decision-ready recommendations, including time-sensitive opportunities.

External opportunity evaluation: Partner with internal scientific and program teams on sourcing and screening external assets and technologies. Lead market attractiveness, competitive, strategic-fit, and financial assessments, with scientific colleagues providing technical diligence expertise.

Valuation and deal economics: Own rigorous rNPV/NPV, probability-weighted, and scenario analysis for partnerships, in-licensing, and other strategic transactions. Quantify risk-adjusted returns, value-inflection points, and tradeoffs among deal terms such as upfronts, milestones, royalties, and rights.

Strategic transactions and structuring: Evaluate a broad range of transaction structures, including licenses, options, co-development partnerships, and other strategic transactions. Support transaction strategy, due diligence, negotiation preparation, and economic terms in coordination with Business Development, Finance, and external advisors.

Deal, partner, and investor intelligence: Build actionable intelligence on transaction precedents, potential partners, and industry pipelines and priorities. Maintain fit-for-purpose benchmarks and decision tools, leveraging available external datasets.

Competitive intelligence and asset strategy: Lead the commercial and strategic interpretation of competitive landscapes, treatment paradigms, and market dynamics. For each asset, assess strategic role, differentiated value, and partnering considerations.

AI-enabled strategic intelligence: Pilot and use advanced AI, digital data sources, and analytical workflows to accelerate market mapping, competitor monitoring, asset screening, scenario analysis, and production of reliable, auditable decision materials; apply appropriate verification and confidentiality standards.

Cross-functional collaboration and governance: Work closely with Business Development, program leaders, R&D, and Finance, maintaining clear ownership boundaries. Lead the analytical foundation for portfolio and Board discussions and partner with Portfolio Positioning & Communications on consistent external narratives and transaction materials.

Requirements

  • Exceptional strategic judgment and ability to synthesize scientific, market, and financial information into crisp recommendations for executive and Board audiences.
  • Demonstrated hands-on financial modeling, rNPV/scenario analysis, and commercial valuation skills; familiarity with transaction comparables and capital allocation.
  • Meaningful exposure to licensing, M&A, options, co-development, or other complex transactions; ability to contribute to structuring and negotiation preparation.
  • Strong cross-functional influence and comfort operating independently in a lean, fast-paced, decentralized environment.
