The American Heart Association, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Development Director for the Jacksonville, Florida market.

This office-based role requires daily travel within the market and leadership of fundraising campaigns, including the Heart Ball of the First Coast. You will report to the VP of Development and develop sponsorships, donor relations, and volunteer leadership to drive revenue. Applicants should have 5+ years in fundraising or related fields, a Bachelor's degree, and strong Microsoft

Qualifications

• 5 years of fundraising, sales, or related experience.
• University or college degree or equivalent.
• Ability to travel up to 75% locally and some overnight trips; reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift/move large objects; physical stamina as needed.
• Basic knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorships and donations.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of sponsors and donors aligned to campaign goals.
• Develop and present proposals and materials to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
• Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership and event volunteers.
• Lead membership engagement for Cor Vitae, with planned events.
• Plan and execute events with internal and external partners.
• Collaborate with Communications Director to support campaign communications.

We are currently hiring a Sr. Development Director in our Jacksonville, Florida market!

The Sr. Director will generate revenue for our Heart Ball fundraising campaign. This campaign includes our signature Heart Ball of the First Coast event.

In this role, you will report to the VP of Development. This role is office-based. The ideal candidate will live in the Jacksonville market; daily travel within the market is required.

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorship and individual donations. Achieve revenue goals by building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and donors.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate sponsors and donors by conducting research that matches to the campaign goals and the Association's mission.
• Develop and present proposals and accompanying materials to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
• Recruit and be responsible for executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day-of-the-event volunteers.
• Lead and engage new individual membership for our Cor Vitae giving society, in partnership with other appropriate fundraising staff. Includes planning and implementing regular engagement events for members.
• Plan and implement events in collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Work with a Communications Director to support and promote campaign communication plans.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or other related experience
• University/College degree or equivalent experience
• Ability to do daily local travel up to 75% and some overnight trips as needed; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis
• Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving
• Must have at least basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office
