Job summary

Almost Famous Clothing in New York, NY is seeking a Sr. Designer, Sweaters to lead sweater styles from concept through production in our Wholesale Apparel segment.

The role is on-site at the NYC office and requires hands-on development from proto to factory comments. The candidate will research markets, select yarns and stitches, and create tech-packs, CADs, and artwork while coordinating with overseas vendors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• College degree in fashion design preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years experience in sweater industry.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, Power Point.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of target market.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage creative development of sweaters from proto development to factory comments and production fitting.
• Research markets, shop retail, and interact with consumer to establish trends.
• Source and choose yarns and knitting stitch designs for samples.
• Create development tech-packs including technical flat sketches, specs, stitches, patterns, and construction details.
• Create CAD sketches and stitch/pattern artwork.
• Communicate with overseas venders and internal teams on product developments.
• Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with support and resources as needed.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 - $110,000. Ranges are based on factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
