Job summary

Stark Tech in Orlando, FL seeks aSenior Design Engineer to deliver engineered drawings for HVAC control systems, review specifications, and produce accurate schematics in AutoCAD. You will size valves, dampers, and air-flow components, design DDC layouts, and develop sequences of operations for robust HVAC controls.

The role requires familiarity with Schneider Electric EcoStruxure/Tridium-like platforms, strong drafting skills, and the ability to mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field with 3‑5 years' experience in the relevant field.
  • 4+ years of experience in controls design engineering OR 8+ years as a controls technician.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical circuits, HVAC, sensors and signal types, and controls required.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE Guideline 36P.
  • Drafting control drawings in Visio, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite required.
  • Must be able to deal with a large volume of work in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble submittals and O&M documents.
  • Mentor junior design engineers to support growth and development.

Responsibilities

The ideal Senior Design Engineer will provide engineered drawings for HVAC control systems, review specifications and contract drawings for assigned projects, and produce accurate schematics using AutoCAD. The role requires sizing control valves, dampers, air‑flow stations, and related components; designing systems with typical DDC control lines such as Schneider Electric, Tridium, or similar; writing and understanding sequence of operations for HVAC control systems; assembling submittals and O&M documents; and mentoring junior design engineers to support their growth and development.

Work Experience
  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other STEM field with 3‑5 years' experience in the relevant field.
  • 4+ years of experience in controls design engineering OR 8+ years as a controls technician.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical circuits, HVAC, sensors and signal types, and controls required.
  • Familiarity with common control sequences including ASHRAE Guideline 36P.
  • Demonstrated capability drafting control drawings in Visio, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite required.
  • Must be able to deal with a large volume of work in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment.
Additional Skills (Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other STEM field with 2‑4 years' experience in the relevant field.
  • Experience designing control systems using Schneider Electric EcoStruxure and SpaceLogic.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control, and fire alarm systems.
