Job summary

Extex Engineered Products, a division of Kaman, located in Gilbert, AZ, seeks an experienced Senior Design Engineer to lead the engineering of aircraft gas turbine engine components and helicopter parts. You will design and analyze complex systems and collaborate with vendors to meet stringent aerospace specifications.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in engineering, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), and familiarity with FAA regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent technical experience.
• 10+ years of related engineering experience in aerospace/related field preferred.
• Experience designing aircraft components/systems and working with engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

Extex a division of Kaman located in Gilbert, Arizona is looking for an experienced and dynamic Sr Design Engineer. The individual will play a key role in a variety of projects through the engineering of components/systems for aircraft gas turbine engines (including turbines, blades, nozzles, vanes, combustors, transmission gears and gear assemblies) also helicopter components (including rotor systems, transmission gears, bearings and structural components and assemblies).

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years related experience in Engineering required.
• Minimum of 5 years related experience in Aerospace/Aviation required.
• Proven ability to design and engineer aircraft components/systems.
• Strong understanding of engineering specifications (AS, ASME, Mil, ASTM, etc)
• Experience working with outside vendors.
• Familiarity with FAA regulations for obtaining intellectual property preferred.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling packages such as Solidworks and AutoCAD.
• Experience working with a DER is preferred.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent technical experience.

Other Requirements:

• Will be required to work overtime and weekends to meet customer needs
• Limited travel may be required
