Job Summary
Join UT Southwestern as a Department Data Analyst, Sr. in the Center of Nurse Excellence, Magnet® Program & Nursing Research Department. The position’s main responsibilities include supporting projects and research studies in database development, data quality checks, data cleaning, submitting data requests and building reports and dashboards.
Responsibilities
- Support projects and research studies in database development, data quality checks, data cleaning, submitting data requests, building reports and dashboards.
- Act as the primary data steward for all department databases, source systems and data structures.
- Abstract, analyze and interpret data, providing recommendations to departmental leadership and other business users.
- Ensure data accuracy and reporting integrity, implementing validation processes.
- Manage departmental projects, serving as the main contact for all reporting/data mining tasks, defining project plans, monitoring scope, timelines and deliverables.
- Assist other Department Data Analysts with data needs and project coordination.
- Serve as technical lead and subject matter expert for all source data systems relevant to department operations.
- Act as lead technical contact for data points and source systems for institutional projects/platforms such as EDW and Organizational Dashboards.
- Coordinate data preparation and submission of documents to federal/state agencies and private research funding agencies as required by law and contracts.
- Map data architecture across department fields and source systems, utilizing process maps and Business Intelligence tools.
- Lead development of education/training tools to help team members and partners interpret data and apply statistical analysis to decision making.
- Perform any other related core functions, such as interacting with patients or research participants, maintaining patient records, or modifying data records.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Information Management, Healthcare Information, Statistics, Business or closely related field.
- Experience: 5 years of data management/analysis in a clinical or healthcare related field. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
Preferred
- Master's Degree.
- Familiarity with scientific terms (biology, biochemistry, chemistry, etc.) and experience in a clinical or healthcare related field.
