Job description
Responsibilities:
Develop, configure, and maintain Distributed Control Systems (DCS) for industrial automation projects
Design and implement control strategies, logic diagrams, and system architectures for process control applications
Assist sales with project scope changes (adds/deducts) and provide technical input during proposal development
Develop and maintain detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) and support project budgeting (equipment and labor)
Configure HMI/SCADA interfaces, graphics, alarms, and data historian systems
Perform system integration including PLC, DCS, and third-party device communications
Calculate and document system loads including heat, motor, and power distribution requirements
Support control panel design, review electrical drawings, and ensure compliance with project specifications
Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for DCS systems
Perform system installations, startups, commissioning, and on-site troubleshooting
Provide operator training and develop system documentation (O&M manuals, functional descriptions, etc.)
Maintain clear communication with customers, project managers, and internal teams
Provide remote and on-site technical support, including after-hours response as needed
Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards
Identify opportunities for system improvements and provide recommendations to customers and internal teams
Support Sales Team by identifying new opportunities and technical solutions

Technical Skills:
Experience programming and configuring major DCS platforms (e.g., Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion, ABB, Siemens PCS7, Rockwell PlantPAx)
Strong understanding of process control principles (PID loops, batch control, sequencing, etc.)
Advanced troubleshooting of control systems, instrumentation, and industrial networks
Experience with HMI/SCADA development and alarm management
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, OPC, etc.)
Familiarity with PLC systems and integration with DCS environments
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and UL508 standards
Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical for control panel and system design
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and documentation tools
Experience with instrumentation, calibration, and field devices
