Job summary

Dine Development Corporation is seeking a Sr. Database System Admin to manage ADABAS, IDMS, DATACOM, and DB2 on IBM mainframe z/OS. This remote, full-time role requires secret IAT-I clearance and extensive DB software experience.

Responsibilities include maintaining DB2 environments, applying patches, and performing migrations and upgrades, while ensuring documentation and SOP compliance. Strong communication and a customer-focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Secret IAT-I certification is required.
• Bachelor's degree in STEM; 7+ years with IBM DB software or 10+ years with IBM DB software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain DB2 environments on mainframe systems following STIG/SRG guidelines.
• Keep software at vendor-supported versions and apply security patches timely.
• Install, upgrade, and maintain DB2 on mainframe platforms (z/OS).
• Provide technical support to customer on database issues and changes.
• Prepare reports for COR on customer questions and progress.
• Document work, tickets, changes, and related SOPs.

Sr. Database System Admin for ADABAS, IDMS, DATACOM, DB2

Location: Remote

Position Type: Full time

Responsibilities

• Maintain software and DB2 environments in compliance with the STIG and/or SRG.
• Keep software at a vendor supported version.
• Apply necessary security software patches within the required timeframe.
• Maintain required documentation as outlined in the STIG.
• Maintain any and all software exits associated with the software maintained in this SOW, regardless of the language used to write the exit.
• Provide technical services to the customer on questions and issues relating to the database software maintained on the DISA mainframe systems for DB2, including all changes and upgrades.
• Provide a report to the COR on customer questions.
• Install, customize, upgrade and maintain DB2 Software on mainframe computer platforms running z/OS.
• Participate in planning and executing database migrations, application software upgrades/migrations.
• Maintain a working knowledge of departmental SOP.
• Ensure that all work is completed using the documented procedures, to include updating and maintain tickets, change requests, and documentation.
• Use SMP/E, to install and maintain software for execution in the IBM Mainframe platform, which includes the z/OS.

Qualifications

• Clearance Requirements: Secret IAT-I certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math and seven years' experience with installation and maintenance of IBM database software and associated support products.
• Or Ten years' experience with installation and maintenance of IBM database software.
