Job description

Work Site: Richardson, TX (Onsite presence required with some remote flexibility)

We are looking for a Senior Database Engineer to manage enterprise applications and complex semiconductor manufacturing systems. This position centers on MS SQL administration, performance optimization, reporting, data architecture, and maintaining manufacturing systems within a highly automated production setting.

Compensation: $72/hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday

Work Site: Richardson, TX (Onsite presence required with some remote flexibility)

Core Responsibilities
  • Maintain and enhance MS SQL databases to ensure reliable performance for enterprise and manufacturing applications.
  • Architect and oversee data warehouses, data marts, and reporting structures to improve organizational insights.
  • Create complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and visual dashboards using SSRS and Power BI to drive data-informed decisions.
  • Resolve database performance bottlenecks to ensure the stability of critical production systems.
  • Provide administrative support for DB2 and Oracle environments as the need arises.
  • Develop and enforce security protocols, governance standards, and comprehensive database documentation.
  • Collaborate with operations, IT, and engineering teams to foster a culture of continuous process improvement.
  • Ensure system reliability through 24/7 monitoring, robust backup strategies, and comprehensive disaster recovery planning.
Professional Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree is required for this role.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with SSMS, database tuning, and MS SQL.
  • Proven background in database design, data modeling, and advanced SQL development.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with PowerShell scripting.
  • At least 1 year of experience utilizing IT service management platforms like ServiceNow.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain thorough documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Power BI, SSRS, DB2, and Oracle.
  • Experience working within semiconductor, SCADA, MES, or manufacturing environments.
  • Development skills in Python, C#, JavaScript, HTML, and web applications.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery, business continuity, and ITIL frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solv­ing abilities with a focus on clear communication during high-pressure outages.
