Job summary
Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Arlington, VA seeks a senior Data Specialist Solutions Architect to partner with Strategic Accounts and design enterprise-wide data strategies that connect siloed data across organizations using AWS, partner, and open-source technologies.

Qualifications
- 8+ years of technology domain experience (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, data & analytics).
- 3+ years design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
- Experience with big data processing technology (e.g., Hadoop or Apache Spark), data warehouse technical architecture, infrastructure components, ETL, and reporting/analytic tools and environments.
Responsibilities
- Design enterprise-wide data strategies for strategic accounts and enterprise data architectures using AWS, partner, and OSS technologies.
- Own technical engagements, ensure value delivery, and oversee project delivery with security/governance.
- Collaborate with sales and technical teams to create proposals and communicate with stakeholders.

You will make a significant impact working directly with customer executives, forming trusted relationships as you help them define and execute their data modernization roadmaps. You will collaborate with AWS service teams to influence product direction and advocate for new features and capabilities based on Strategic Accounts needs. The ability to bridge database, storage, analytics, and artificial intelligence technologies is essential for the Data SSA function. You should demonstrate strategic thinking about business challenges in the Agentic AI era and articulate technical solutions to address them. As a trusted customer advocate, you will develop comprehensive data technology strategies for our largest Strategic Accounts customers operating in complex, multi-faceted environments. You will interface with customer leadership to build relationships and enable them as data strategy champions. You will guide customers in designing advanced cloud-based data architectures, implementing innovative technologies across AWS services (including Amazon RDS, Aurora, Redshift, Athena, EMR, Glue, Kinesis, MSK), partner solutions (Snowflake, Databricks), and open-source frameworks (Spark, Flink, Trino), while adopting the best cloud practices for databases, storage, and analytics services. You will share your successes and learnings with the broader AWS SA community.
Working closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess current infrastructure, and propose effective migration strategies to AWS. Owning technical engagements and ensuring timely and successful value delivery. Project Delivery & Oversight: Overseeing project delivery and ensuring compliance with security and governance standards. Owning the planning, execution, technical engagement, and outcomes of specific implementation projects and assignments. Collaboration & Communication: Collaborating with sales and technical teams to create proposals and assess customer needs. Communicating with internal teams like Account Managers, Service Teams and Go-to-Market, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Customer Engagement & Solutions Design: Work closely with customers to design, implement, and manage AWS, OSS and partner data solutions that meet their technical requirements and business objectives, serving as a key player in driving customer success through their cloud journey.
Delivering on-site technical assessments with partners and customers, participating in customer visits, understanding customer requirements, and creating reference architectures utilizing AWS, partner and OSS analytics, database and storage, solutions.
Engaging with customer business and technology stakeholders to create a compelling vision of a modern data ecosystem to support a world where agents are the primary consumers of data.
Data Architecture Design & Implementation: Help customers define and implement data architectures including data lakes and lakehouses to meet the demands of an agentic future while proving the value of AWS infrastructure to support new distributed computing solutions that often span private cloud and public cloud services.
Technical Leadership & Advisory: As trusted advisors to customers, provide guidance on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions while leading the implementation process, ensuring adherence to best practices, optimizing performance, and managing risks throughout the project.
As a senior member of the account team, you will drive customer satisfaction and revenue growth across a strategic portfolio. You will interact, communicate, and partner with other AWS organizations including service teams, marketing, professional services, and business development to represent your customers' needs to AWS executive leadership. You will think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges while maintaining a passion for educating, training, and designing innovative cloud data solutions for enterprise customers.

- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
