Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a senior data scientist to build and maintain predictive models that optimize rental rates across customer segments and markets. You will apply advanced statistical methods and collaborate with Pricing, Sales and Finance to translate insights into action.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, strong Python and SQL, and proven ability to deploy models in production. Familiarity with Spark/Databricks and MLflow is a plus; comfort with messy data and independent

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of data science or quantitative analytics with impact on pricing or revenue.
  • Strong foundation in statistics; justify model choice.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL; Spark/Databricks a plus.
  • Experience building and deploying ML models in production.
  • Ability to work independently from problem to deployed solution.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain and improve predictive models for optimal rental rates.
  • Apply regression, survival analysis, elasticity, Bayesian methods.
  • Analyze rate performance across markets and segments.
  • Design A/B tests to measure pricing impact.
  • Communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
