The University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design and build enterprise-grade data pipelines and a lakehouse architecture within the UVM Health Microsoft Fabric data platform.

You will ensure reliable delivery of high-quality data from Epic and other sources into the unified data model to support clinical care and operations. As technical lead on complex integration projects, you will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with agile teams to deliver analytics

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in CS/Data Engineering or related field.
5+ years of data engineering experience.
Strong SQL and PySpark skills.
Experience leading technical components of complex data projects.
Experience working in agile product delivery preferred.

Job Summary

The Sr. Data Engineer, Microsoft Fabric designs and builds enterprise-grade data pipelines and lakehouse architecture within the UVM Health Microsoft Fabric data platform. This role is responsible for the reliable and scalable delivery of high-quality data from Epic and operational source systems into the unified data model, enabling downstream analytics that supports clinical care, operations, and quality improvement. The Sr. Data Engineer serves as a technical lead on complex data integration projects and mentors junior engineers.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field required.

Experience

5+ years of data engineering experience.
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or equivalent cloud data platforms.
Advanced SQL and PySpark skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical components of complex data projects.
Experience working in agile product delivery preferred.
