Job summary

American Tire Distributors seeks a Senior Data Engineer to identify trends, manage master data, and automate data management across multiple domains. You will design data pipelines to ETL data into data warehouses or data lakes and implement data models that support critical business requirements.

The role requires experience with Talend, Python, SQL, DBT, BigQuery, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and data governance. The team collaborates with stakeholders to drive data-driven decisions at ATD.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of experience as a Data Engineer, Integration Engineer, or related field.
  • ALTERNATIVELY, Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and two (2) years of experience as a Data Engineer, Integration Engineer, or related field.
  • Must possess two (2) years of demonstrated experience with the following skills: Talend, Python, SQL; Google Cloud Platform, Azure, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, DBT; DBT, data models, SQL; JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Teams; BigQuery, Snowflake; PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, MDM; Talend, Python, SQL, Kafka or Google Pub/Sub; DBT, Python, SQL, BigQuery or Snowflake; CI/CD, DBT, JIRA, Confluence, Terraform, Linux; GitHub or Bitbucket.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex datasets to uncover insights.
  • Manage master data across multiple domains such as Customer, Product, Contact, Asset, and Finance.
  • Automate data management processes and enhance efficiency using data science skills.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to ETL data from various sources into data warehouses or data lakes.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
  • Acquire, profile, and clean data with data stewards to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Discover and define new opportunities for process improvements based on data insights.
  • Define and implement data quality rules and standards to maintain data integrity.
  • Proactively analyze data to enhance quality across accuracy, completeness, consistency, integrity, timeliness, conformity, and validity.
  • Communicate findings and insights to internal stakeholders and external partners through reports and presentations.
  • Partner with data architects and business stakeholders to define and implement data models supporting business requirements.
  • Data modelling and segmentation to design database objects and maintain Master Data Management Solutions.
  • Work on Data Architecture to support these solutions.

LOCATION: 12200 Herbert Wayne Court, Suite 150, Huntersville, NC 28078. 100% telecommuting allowed from any location in the U.S.

Job Duties

Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex datasets to uncover insights. Manage master data across multiple domains such as Customer, Product, Contact, Asset, and Finance. Utilize data science skills to automate data management processes and enhance efficiency. Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into data warehouses or data lakes. Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and data quality. Acquire, profile, and clean data in collaboration with data stewards to ensure accuracy and completeness. Discover and define new opportunities for process improvements based on data insights. Define and implement data quality rules and standards to maintain data integrity. Proactively analyze data to enhance quality across dimensions including accuracy, completeness, consistency, integrity, timeliness, conformity, and validity. Communicate findings and insights effectively to internal stakeholders and external partners through reports and presentations. Partner with data architects and business stakeholders to define and implement data models that directly support business requirements. Data modelling and segmentation to design database objects and maintain Master Data Management Solutions. Work on Data Architecture to support these solutions.

Requirements

  • ALTERNITAVELY, Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and two (2) years of experience as a Data Engineer, Integration Engineer, or related field.
  • Must possess two (2) years of demonstrated experience with the following skills:
    • Conducting benchmarking and market analysis using workflow modeling languages – Talend, Python, and SQL.
    • Designing data architectures, incorporating system/service requirements using Google Cloud Platform, Azure, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and DBT.
    • Using DBT, data models, database-design development, and SQL to perform business data modeling.
    • Delivering multi-mode communications using JIRA and Confluence for documentation and Microsoft Teams for communications.
    • Analyzing and researching customer and market conditions using BigQuery, Snowflake.
    • Designing, implementing, administering, maintaining, and managing databases using PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, and MDM (Master Data Management).
    • Performing data collection and analysis using Talend, Python, SQL, and streaming services like Kafka or Google Pub/Sub.
    • Conducting business forecasting using DBT, Python, SQL, and BigQuery or Snowflake.
    • Validating and verifying data systems, processes, and workflows using CI/CD, DBT, JIRA, Confluence, Terraform, and Linux operating system to ensure correctness, efficiency, and security.
    • Performing gap analysis between current and future states using JIRA, Confluence, data models, MDM, and version-control tools such as GitHub or Bitbucket.

OFFERED WAGE: $155,645 – $165,645/year
