Job summary

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have 8-15 years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data systems, with expertise in Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and databases. The successful candidate will also have experience building dashboards in PowerBI or Tableau and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential, as the candidate will be working closely with business and technical leaders.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain large-scale data systems using Snowflake and dbt
• Develop and maintain complex SQL queries and stored procedures
• Collaborate with business leaders to understand data requirements and develop data solutions
• Build and maintain data dashboards using PowerBI or Tableau
• Work with Fivetran and REST APIs to integrate data sources and build data pipelines
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues
• Develop and maintain data documentation and standards
• Collaborate with technical leaders to develop and implement data strategies

Requirements:

• 8-15 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and databases
• Strong experience building dashboards in PowerBI or Tableau
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work with business and technical leaders
• Excellent English verbal and writing skills
• Experience working with Fivetran and REST APIs is a major plus
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g. Git)
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Similar Degree, or equivalent experience.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts
• Experience with data governance and data quality initiatives
• Certification in data engineering or a related field
