The Data Center Senior Engineering Team Lead is an advanced-level engineering management position responsible for overseeing larger or more complex data center projects and may oversee several Engineering Team Leads. The role combines engineering management (resource allocation, workflow, planning, fee estimating, and QA/QC of design teamwork) with advanced technical competence.
Develop design fees for the requested work on state-of-the-art AI Data Center projects.
Design data center mission-critical projects.
Preference to PE license; data center experience is critical. Exposure to fitout work (3–4MW+ per data module) is acceptable.
Experience on larger facilities or campuses (50MW+; preference to 100MW+).
Prepare and oversee work plans for engineering and production resources.
Oversee and evaluate current team and project resource allocation as well as fee disposition.
Oversee Engineering Team Leads, Engineers, Designers and Modeling staff assigned to team or project work.
Communicate with Project Executive or Division Manager regarding effort required and expected deliverables; develop or oversee requests for additional services when needed.
Oversee the Engineering CAC effort in support of projects assigned to Engineering Team Leads.
QA/QC of project designs developed by Engineering Teams under supervision.
Technical problem resolution.
Coordinate with city, state, county officials and other regulatory agencies.
Perform value engineering studies.

Leadership — ability to lead technically complex efforts and diverse teams.
Communication — fluent in oral and written formats; ability to present to executive management and customers.
Teamwork — ability to collaborate with a diverse leadership group.
Advanced knowledge of engineering processes and calculations, including load calculations, equipment layout, distribution, lighting, utility coordination, grounding, value engineering, codes, and standards.
Advanced management skills: work planning, resource management, fee development, staff oversight, and advancement planning.
Advanced knowledge of equipment testing and commissioning.
Ability to analyze and resolve technically complex engineering problems.
Ability to oversee Electrical System Studies (Short Circuit, Overcurrent, Arc Flash, Voltage Drop, and Underground Thermal Calculations).
Ability to develop a complete sequence of operations for automated systems.
Knowledge of electrical construction techniques and how design packages are built.
Proficient in computer use and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); Oracle preferred.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; adapt to changing requirements.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for the role.
Self-motivated, proactive and a strong team player.
Ability to interact professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients and partners.
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences from an accredited university.
Typically 10 years of engineering experience.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the United States is required.
Field experience is strongly recommended.
Education and experience may be combined.
Up to 25% (excluding local site visits).
General work environment; indoor work with varying conditions.
Noise level usually low to medium; jobsite can be loud.
