Job summary

Horizontal Talent seeks a Senior Data Engineer to join a dynamic enterprise data team, delivering healthcare data solutions with Azure, Snowflake, and HL7/FHIR standards. You will design and implement data pipelines, warehousing, and integration for large-scale environments.

The role requires in-depth ETL, SQL, and Python skills, plus collaboration with analytics and governance partners to ensure data quality and reliable data workflows for healthcare applications.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of data engineering with a strong focus on data warehousing.
• 5+ years with Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• 5+ years ETL development using Informatica PowerCenter, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or similar platforms.
• 5+ years of experience with relational databases such as Oracle, Snowflake, or SQL Server.
• 5+ years of experience writing stored procedures using Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server T-SQL, or Snowflake SQL.
• 3+ years of Python scripting.
• 3+ years of experience using source control tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, or SVN.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, Business, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.

• Experience analyzing project requirements and creating detailed technical specifications.

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, Business, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with batch scripting or PowerShell.
• Data modeling experience in a data warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with Spark and Azure Data Fabric.
• Experience designing and building APIs in Snowflake and Azure Data Factory, including REST or RPC approaches.
• Background in healthcare data, especially Medicaid or Medicare-related applications.
• Azure certifications related to data engineering or data analytics.
