Job summary

Moody's Investors Service is seeking a cybersecurity engineering leader to secure AI and model ecosystems, defining architecture, controls, and risk assessments across the AI/ML lifecycle. You will collaborate with engineering to embed security into development, deployment, and operations, while advancing governance and incident response capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline or combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience designing, securing, or operating cloud-based solutions with at least one major cloud platform.

Responsibilities

• Secure AI and model ecosystems by defining architecture, implementing controls, assessing risk, and supporting resilient deployment and operations.
• Develop and maintain AI security architecture, standards, and technical roadmap.
• Identify and implement security controls across AI/ML lifecycle.
• Assess AI/ML and LLM solutions for prompt injection, data leakage, model manipulation, and unauthorized access.
• Provide hands-on support for security testing, reviews, threat modelling, control implementation, and incident investigations.
• Establish secure configuration requirements for cloud-hosted AI services, ML platforms, pipelines, APIs, and containers.
• Partner with engineering to integrate security controls into development and deployment processes.
• Develop monitoring approaches for model behaviour, misuse, data exposure, and emerging threats.
• Contribute to AI governance, risk assessments, exception management, and incident response.

Skills and Competencies

• 4+ years of experience in a technical, engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, or related role
• Demonstrated ability to design, secure, or operate cloud-based solutions, including experience with at least one major cloud platform and its configuration-management capabilities
• Working knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning concepts, model lifecycles, application programming interfaces, and large language model technologies
• Experience conducting security architecture reviews, threat modelling, technical risk assessments, or security testing
• Ability to translate strategic objectives and technical AI risks into implementable requirements, controls, and practical recommendations for varied stakeholders
• Hands-on capability with relevant scripting, automation, cloud, security, or machine-learning tools, supported by strong analytical, written, verbal, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Deep expertise in artificial intelligence, with a track record of implementing advanced AI solutions to drive strategic transformation and operational efficiency. Strong experience using AI tools to lead innovation initiatives. Demonstrated leadership in managing AI-related risks, ensuring ethical governance, and fostering a culture of responsible AI adoption across the organization

Education

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for security testing, architecture reviews, threat modelling, control implementation, and incident investigationEstablish secure configuration requirements for cloud-hosted AI services, machine learning platforms, pipelines, application programming interfaces, and containers
• Partner with engineering teams to integrate security controls into development, development security operations, and deployment processes

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is$116,500.00 - $192,300.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
