Job summary

KIOXIA America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Customer Qualification Engineer to support qualification of datacenter SSD products.

You will configure qualification infrastructure, drive test execution, and triage issues while coordinating with the Product Support lead to ensure on-time readiness. The role requires deep storage domain knowledge, strong scripting ability, and experience with Windows/Linux environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on technical experience with SSDs or related storage devices or BS + 5+ years
• Advanced understanding of computer system architecture fundamentals
• Platform-level troubleshooting and issue isolation
• Experience triaging issues on Windows and/or Linux servers
• Experience scripting in Python/PowerShell/Bash for cross-team usage
• Familiar with data manipulation/analysis (spreadsheets or tools)
• Good technical communication skills in complex scenarios
• Experience with PCIe/NVMe protocols and SSD test tooling

Job Description

As a Senior Customer Qualification Engineer, your primary role is to provide support for customer qualifications on our datacenter SSD products. During the product qualification phase, you will provide support on test execution, failure analysis, and status reporting. This includes ensuring all hardware and software components of the qualification are in place and ready for execution, reporting on execution and issue status, and participating in update meetings.

• Work with the Product Support lead to ensure alignment of tasks
• Perform failure triage on any issues found during qualifications
• Manage issues in defect tracking systems
• Drive issues to resolution in a timely manner
• Write test status reports on a regular basis

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands‑on technical experience with SSDs or related storage devices -or- BS degree in engineering or equivalent field and 5+ years hands‑on technical experience
• Advanced understanding of computer system architecture fundamentals
• Platform‑level troubleshooting skills to include run/break/fix capabilities and issue isolation
• Experience triaging issues in Windows and/or Linux server operating systems
• Experience developing Python/PowerShell/Bash scripts for cross‑team usage
• Familiar with data manipulation/analysis (spreadsheets or more advanced tools)
• Good technical communication skills providing both detail and clarity in complex scenarios

Qualifications

• Experience with PCIe/NVMe protocols, including analyzer and power measurement tools
• Experience with SSD performance measurement tools and methodologies
• Experience with OCP Datacenter NVMe SSD specifications and SSD test system usage
• Experience engaging with stakeholders of a product development organization

The expected salary for this position is $99,560.00 - $165,930.00.
