Job summary

Adventist Health Mendocino County is seeking a Sr. CT Technologist for the night shift in Fort Bragg, CA.

The role performs CT imaging to produce cross-sectional images for radiologist interpretation and supports high-quality patient care in a busy radiology department. Responsibilities include planning daily patient workload, ensuring imagery is correctly transferred via PACS and teleradiology systems, and assisting with accreditation processes with JCAHO, ACR, and state licensure.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology preferred.
  • Three years CT technologist experience preferred.
  • CA RT license required; ARRT CT certification required or equivalent.
  • Advanced CT certification preferred in CA; BLS required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Venipuncture certification may be required per facility policy.

Responsibilities

  • Produces sagittal and coronal reformatted CT images for radiologist interpretation.
  • Uses PACS and teleradiology to transfer images to the appropriate location.
  • Ensures department and equipment meet accreditation standards (JCAHO, ACR, state licensure).
  • Plans daily patient workload and ensures staffing coverage for vacations and sick days.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education

Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology
Three years CT technologist experience
Radiologic Tech (RT) license in CA
ARRT CT certification (R.T.(R)(CT))

Job Description

We are comprised of a 25-bed critical access hospital and offer a range of services in Fort Bragg. Job Summary:

Utilizes computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patient's internal organs and tissues for diagnosis of medical issues. Provides clinical care efficiently and effectively using a high level of technical and organizational skills as well as critical thinking ability. This position is represented by UFCW.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology: Preferred
  • Three years' CT technologist experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) OR R.T. (R)(ARRT): Required
  • Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA
  • Advanced certification in the modality of CT: Required in OR and HI, Preferred in CA
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
  • Fluoroscopy license: Preferred in CA and OR
  • Venipuncture certification: Preferred in CA and OR

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

  • Venipuncture (IV) certification: Required

Essential Functions:

  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for patients ranging in age from adolescence through geriatric.
  • Produces sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation.
  • Uses PACS and teleradiology system to correctly transfer images to the appropriate location.
  • Ensures department, equipment and staffing meet requirements set forth by any accreditation maintained by facility (JCAHO, ACR, State Licensures, etc.). Leads and is responsible for the process of accreditation with these governing bodies for the specific modality.
  • Plans the daily patient workload to accommodate patients. Provides adequate staffing to accommodate patient workload, while covering vacations and sick days.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
