Role Overview

As Senior Counsel for Advanced Nuclear, you will provide strategic legal guidance and support for our cutting-edge initiatives in advanced reactor technologies. You will serve as a key legal advisor to the Advanced Nuclear leadership team, navigating complex regulatory environments, large commercial transactions, and the unique legal challenges inherent in the evolution of nuclear energy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Legal Advice: Act as a primary legal partner for the Advanced Nuclear business segment, providing counsel on commercial strategy, technology development, commercial operations, and marketing communications.
  • Contractual & Commercial Support: Draft, negotiate, and manage complex commercial agreements, including technology licensing, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and government-funded research/development contracts and develop and implement commercial contract strategy and processes.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Collaborate with internal regulatory teams to navigate licensing processes with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and international counterparts.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal, operational, and commercial risks associated with the deployment of advanced nuclear technology.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all business activities adhere to internal policies, international export controls, nuclear safety standards, and applicable federal/state laws.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, finance, supply chain, and government affairs teams to align legal strategies with business objectives.
  • Cross-Legal Leadership and Liaison: Work closely with and lead Legal and Compliance functional support, including Intellectual Property, Trade Compliance, Government Contracting, and Regulatory Affairs, to provide one-stop-shop legal support to the Advanced Nuclear business team.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar Admission: Active member in good standing of at least one state bar.
  • Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience in a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department, preferably within the nuclear, industrial, energy, or highly regulated technology sectors.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of contract law, and complex commercial contracts. Familiarity with the regulatory framework governing nuclear energy, and government contracting is highly preferred.
  • Communication: Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to simplify complex legal issues for non-legal stakeholders.
  • Professionalism: Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high standards of integrity and ethics.
  • Fluent in English

Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrated experience in large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
  • Familiarity with NRC licensing procedures and Department of Energy (DOE) grant/funding structures.
  • Experience negotiating international, cross-border transactions.
  • A passion for sustainability and the role of advanced nuclear in the global energy transition.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (U.S. and internationally as required)
  • Eligibility for US DOD and DOE security clearances

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $176,300.00 and $293,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.This posting is expected to remain open for at least seven days after it was posted on September 10, 2026.
