Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking an experienced LVN to provide patient care in a correctional facility as part of a multidisciplinary health care team. Responsibilities include patient evaluations and supervision of staff during special procedures, under the supervision of nursing leadership and physicians.

Job description

Employees in this classification are experienced LVNs responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care activities in an assigned correctional facility. Work performed under the direction of a regional director of nursing, staff nurse and/or physician as part of a total health care team in providing complete evaluations to patients. Works under the direct supervision of regional director of nursing, staff nurse staff nurse or physician. May instruct coworkers and supervise them in the performance of special procedures. Work performed as part of a total correctional managed health care team in providing safe and competent care to patients.

Qualifications

Completion of a Board of Nursing accredited program of vocational nursing. Current Vocational Nursing license in the state of Texas or the attainment of a temporary permit from the Board of Nursing to practice vocational nursing pending full licensure in the state of Texas. At least two years of LVN experience in a hospital, clinic or community-based environment.
