Sr. Controls Installation Technician – Baltimore, MD – Systems Integration & Energy Management Firm – Up to $50/hr + OT + Company Vehicle
About the Opportunity
A leading Systems Integration and Energy Management contractor in the Baltimore/DMV region is seeking an experiencedSr. Controls Installation Technician to support major Building Automation System (BAS) installation projects.This role emphasizes field leadership, craftsmanship, and mentoring junior installers while ensuring high-quality outcomesin commercial, healthcare, laboratory, data center, and mission-critical environments.
This position is primarily a night-shift role (6:00pm–4:00am) supporting a major healthcare project, including occasional Saturday work that qualifies for overtime.

- Hourly Rate: $40.00–$50.00/hr (DOE)
- Schedule: Night shift (6:00pm–4:00am) with occasional Saturdays
- Travel: Local travel to client sites
- Vehicle: Company Vehicle + Gas Card (after 30 days & MVR approval)
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee installation of Building Automation Systems (BAS) from rough-in to turnover
- Participate in project pre-planning alongside PMs, engineers, and field supervisors
- Install conduit, low-voltage cabling, and control wiring per plans and specs
- Mount, wire, and terminate controllers, sensors, actuators, VAV box equipment, and field devices
- Perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting of wiring, terminations, and device functionality
- Identify installation issues quickly and coordinate with engineering/PMs for resolution
- Support both day and night shifts depending on project phases (this role is primarily overnight)
- Train and mentor junior installers; maintain safe, well-organized job sites
Requirements
- Experience as a Sr. Controls Installer or similar BAS/DDC installation lead role
- Ability to read and interpret control drawings, electrical wiring diagrams, and installation schematics
- Hands-on experience installing, labeling, and terminating BAS/DDC hardware and cabling
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate crews and interact with clients
- Comfortable working night shifts and occasional weekend schedules
