The Hartford is seeking a Sr. Consultant, DAIO Workforce Strategy to partner with HR, DAIO leaders, Learning and Technology to drive strategic workforce planning and transformation aligned to business priorities and AI goals.

The role will support change management and coordinate across HR, DAIO teams, Learning, and Technology partners. This hybrid position requires working in an office three days a week (Tuesday–Thursday) with locations including Columbus, OH; Chicago, IL; Hartford, CT; or

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Strategy, Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience in workforce strategy, strategic workforce planning, management or internal consulting, change management, HR analytics, or transformation-focused roles.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, including structured problem solving, stakeholder engagement, facilitation, synthesis of complex information, and development of recommendations for senior leaders.
  • Experience supporting change management and adoption for complex organizational, workforce, technology, or operating model transformations.
  • Experience supporting complex, cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Working knowledge of workforce planning concepts, skills-based talent approaches, and transformation initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of change management principles and approaches, including stakeholder engagement, change impact assessment, communications, readiness, and adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Translate strategic direction into detailed workforce analyses and plans.
  • Conduct demand, capacity, and skills assessments to support strategic workforce planning (SWP).
  • Refresh workforce plans, models, and assumptions as priorities evolve.
  • Develop data-driven insights, summaries, and recommendations to support leadership discussions.
  • Provide consultative support to DAIO leaders and cross-functional partners using data and insights.
  • Manage workplans, timelines, dependencies, and deliverables for assigned workstreams.
  • Support change management activities including stakeholder analysis, communications, readiness, and adoption planning.
  • Assess the people and organizational impacts of changes to roles, skills, processes, technologies, and translate into actionable plans.
  • Track progress against milestones, KPIs, and risks; escalate as needed.
  • Coordinate execution across HR, DAIO teams, Learning, and Technology partners.
  • Support skills forecasting, role segmentation, and identification of critical roles.
  • Partner with HR and Learning teams to execute skilling and upskilling initiatives, including AI and analytics.
  • Support build-versus-buy analyses using data on internal skills and external options.
  • Serve as day-to-day partner for assigned stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and follow-through.
  • Facilitate working sessions and stakeholder discussions to gather input and drive alignment around priorities.
  • Support governance with vendors and partners by tracking deliverables and documenting outcomes.

The Sr. Consultant, DAIO Workforce Strategy

This role partners closely with HR, DAIO leaders, Learning, and Technology teams to support strategic workforce planning, workforce transformation initiatives, and future-focused skilling efforts that align to DAIO business priorities and AI transformation goals. The role will also support the change management and adoption efforts required to translate workforce strategies into sustained changes in roles, skills, capabilities, and operating models.

This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute components of the DAIO workforce strategy by translating strategic direction into detailed analyses, workforce plans, and implementation-ready outputs.
  • Conduct workforce analyses including demand, capacity, and skills assessments to support strategic workforce planning (SWP) activities.
  • Maintain and refresh workforce plans, models, and assumptions as business, talent, and technology priorities evolve.
  • Develop data-driven insights, summaries, and recommendations to support leadership discussions and decision-making.

  • Support change management activities associated with workforce transformation, including stakeholder analysis, change impact assessments, communications, engagement, readiness, and adoption planning.
