Tract Capital Management in Sparks, NV is seeking a Senior Data Center BTM Construction Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of behind-the-meter electrical infrastructure for mission-critical facilities, reporting to the Director of Construction.

You will oversee medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, and civil/structural work, manage multi-contractor teams, ensure safety, on-time delivery, and adherence to NEC/NESC, UL, and permitting requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading large multi-contractor projects.
• 5+ years interpreting drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• 5+ years working with medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, and civil/structural work.
• Experience with Procore and Microsoft Office.
• Experience managing BTM or mission-critical power infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure seamless execution.

Reporting to the Director of Construction, this role oversees construction and integration of medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, feeders, and supporting civil/structural work while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, on budget, and to the highest technical standards.

Position Overview

The Senior Data Center BTM Construction Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of behind-the-meter (BTM) electrical infrastructure supporting mission-critical operations. Reporting to the Director of Construction, this role oversees construction and integration of medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, feeders, and supporting civil/structural work while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, on budget, and to the highest technical standards.

This role partners closely with engineering, design, operations, commissioning teams, contractors, EPC partners, and utilities to ensure reliable and efficient facility power systems.

Project Leadership & Delivery

• Lead all phases of BTM construction including preconstruction planning, civil/structural support, equipment installation, integration, and turnover.
• Oversee contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure seamless execution.
• Establish and enforce schedule and budget controls while mitigating project risks.
• Monitor project progress and provide strategic guidance to construction teams.
• Lead site meetings, inspections, and commissioning handoffs.

Technical & Quality Oversight

• Provide oversight for installation, integration, and commissioning of medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, and feeders.
• Ensure compliance with design documents, NEC/NESC codes, UL standards, and permitting requirements.
• Review and approve submittals, RFIs, method statements, and field changes.
• Partner with commissioning and operations teams to validate reliability and energization readiness.
• Drive quality control and documentation standards through Procore or equivalent systems.

Budgeting & Contracts

• Manage budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting for BTM scopes.
• Lead RFP processes, contractor selection, and negotiations.
• Review and approve change orders.
• Identify opportunities for schedule optimization and cost savings.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Serve as the primary point of contact for BTM construction coordination.
• Communicate project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to leadership.
• Align construction, commissioning, and operations teams for successful turnover.
• Promote accountability, safety, and collaboration.

Risk, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and electrical safety standards.
• Lead risk mitigation planning related to logistics, site conditions, equipment delivery, and commissioning readiness.
• Oversee permitting, inspections, and regulatory compliance.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of construction management experience focused on BTM or mission-critical power infrastructure.
• 5+ years interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• 5+ years working with medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, and supporting civil/structural work.
• 5+ years leading large multi-contractor projects.
• 5+ years using Procore and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hyperscale data centers or other mission-critical facilities.
• Knowledge of commissioning, energization, and operational readiness.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage complex on-site projects in a fast-paced environment.

Location

• On-site in Sparks, Nevada.
• Candidates must live within a commutable distance.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $150,000–$200,000 plus discretionary bonus.
