Job summary

Westervelt Ecological Services is seeking a Senior Mitigation Project Manager to lead the development, permitting, implementation, and management of wetland and stream mitigation banking projects in the Southeast. This role will be based in our Lawrenceville, GA office.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, regulatory agencies, consultants, landowners, and clients to deliver conservation outcomes while growing our mitigation banking program. Travel to project sites will be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Biology, Natural Resources, Hydrology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in mitigation banking, ecological restoration, or a closely related industry.
  • Strong technical experience with stream and wetland assessment methodologies, including SQT, HGM, and related field studies.
  • Experience with special-status species assessments, habitat restoration, and environmental permitting.
  • At least 5 years of project management and budget management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects from concept through implementation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Planner.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work outdoors in varying field conditions.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Westervelt Ecological Services is seeking a highly motivated Senior Mitigation Project Manager to lead the development, permitting, implementation, and management of wetland and stream mitigation banking projects throughout the Southeast. This position will work in person from our Lawrenceville, Georgia office.

This role is ideal for an experienced environmental professional who combines strong scientific expertise with project management and leadership skills. You'll work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, regulatory agencies, consultants, landowners, and clients to deliver successful conservation outcomes while helping to grow and strengthen our mitigation banking program.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Conservation Project Manager, you will:

  • Mentor, coach, and support the growth of junior team members
  • Travel periodically to project sites and stakeholder meetings throughout the region
