Job summary

FPC of Savannah is seeking a Sr. Commodity Manager to drive total cost of ownership across key electronics categories.

The role focuses on control boxes, electro-mechanical and electronics spaces, leading cross-functional collaboration with suppliers, engineering, quality, and product management. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in sourcing, strong negotiation and leadership skills, and a deep understanding of lean tools and data-driven category strategies.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in sourcing and familiarity with industrial operations.
  • MBA or professional certifications preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Experience with strategic sourcing and lean tools.
  • Digital dexterity and ability to leverage data.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain strategy and category experience.
  • Independently driven problem solver in fast-moving environments.
  • Proven leadership, negotiation, and strategic communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Establish cross-functional network and collaborate with suppliers, supply chain, engineering, quality, and product management.
  • Own vendor performance data and report metrics to leadership.
  • Develop and implement category strategy to optimize affordability, availability, agility, and innovation, leveraging electro-mechanical components, control box sourcing, electronics, lean tools for timely, best-cost, best-quality parts.
  • Manage external relationships with suppliers, including contract negotiation, new product development, approved vendor lists, RFX, re-sourcing, dual qualification, pricing, quality, and capacity.
  • Collaborate with Global Category team and Product Management/Engineering to align long-term strategy, technology roadmap, and risk mitigation.
  • Develop and maintain expertise on global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations.

Job description

Our Fortune 500 Manufacturing Client seeks a Sr. Commodity Manager to drive TCO across key Categories. Critical Spend will fall under this person's purview.

Looking for someone strong in Control Boxes/ElectroMechanical/Electronics spaces.

Responsibilities
  • Establishes a cross-functional network and fosters collaboration with suppliers, wider supply chain organization, engineering, quality, and product management
  • Owns the vendor performance data and reports metrics to leadership
  • Develop and implement category strategy which optimizes affordability, availability, agility, and innovation. Leverage understanding of Electro-mechanical components, Control Box Sourcing, electronics, sourcing concepts, and lean tools to ensure parts delivered on time at best cost and quality.
  • Manage external relationship with suppliers and assume responsibility for all internal activities and decisions associated with electronics category and suppliers, including contract negotiation, new product development, approved vendor list, RFX, re-sourcing, dual qualification, pricing changes, quality, and capacity.
  • Collaborate within the Global Category team and across Product Management and Engineering to align on long-term strategy, technology roadmap, and risk mitigation
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations
Qualifications
  • 8+ years’ experience in sourcing environment and familiarity with industrial operations
  • Prefer MBA or professional certifications
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Experience with strategic sourcing and lean tools
  • Digital dexterity and ability to leverage data
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain strategy (development and execution) and category specific experience
  • Independently driven problem solver who can address complex challenges in a fast-moving environment
  • Proven track record of successful leadership, negotiation, and strategic communication
  • Strong business acumen and experience collaborating across various levels within a diverse, global organization
