Job summary

Akaasa Technologies in Washington, DC seeks a Sr. Cloud Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize secure AWS GovCloud infrastructure for data, analytics, and AI/ML workloads.

You will work hands-on with platform, security, and application teams to automate operations and improve the Enterprise Data Platform. The role requires strong knowledge of core AWS services, IaC, CI/CD, and monitoring, plus excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Job description

Job Title :: Sr. Cloud Systems Engineer

Hands-on Cloud Engineer supporting secure, scalable AWS GovCloud infrastructure for enterprise data, analytics, and AI/ML workloads.

Works with platform, security, and application teams to automate operations, monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve the Enterprise Data Platform.

Requirements:

Working knowledge of core AWS services: VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, EKS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Systems Manager.

Foundational understanding of AWS networking, security, IAM, IaC/CloudFormation, Git, and CI/CD.

Familiarity with cloud monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.

Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and willingness to learn under senior engineers.

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.

Highly valued(Desirable, but not required) knowledge, skills and experience

Provision and maintain AWS infrastructure, networking, IAM, monitoring, and logging for EDP environments.

Develop and manage IaC using Terraform/CloudFormation and support Git-based CI/CD pipelines.

Support EKS/Kubernetes workloads, troubleshoot infrastructure and connectivity issues, and assist with deployments.

Implement security, automation, cost optimization, documentation, incident resolution, and continuous platform improvements.
