Job summary

Largeton Group is seeking a Sr Cloud Architect in Washington, D.C. This hybrid role requires over 10 years of cloud engineering/architecture experience, especially with Azure. Qualifications

  • Active Secret or higher security clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Architect secure, scalable infrastructures and network connectivity within Azure GovCloud.
  • Design cloud-native data platforms, pipelines, and analytics architectures.
  • Automate cloud provisioning using Terraform, ARM, or Bicep, ensuring FedRAMP compliance.
  • Implement and manage Azure AD, RBAC, least-privilege access, encryption, and NIST-aligned security controls.
  • Apply DISA STIGs and CIS benchmarks; lead architecture reviews and documentation efforts.
  • Optimize cloud spend (FinOps) and provide cloud best-practices guidance to engineering teams.
  • Migrate NTIA's Unclassified Spectrum Management Systems to Azure Government.
  • Migrate NTIA's Secret environment to Azure Secret Cloud.
  • Enhance security and administration of Spectrum IT systems operations.
  • Modernize and migrate applications with configuration changes as needed.
  • Promote adoption of Platform as a Service (PaaS) and cloud-native solutions.
  • Replatform or rehost applications based on their ability to leverage Azure PaaS or IaaS.
  • Utilize Microsoft CAF and the Azure Well-Architected Framework throughout projects.
  • Leverage NTIA FSDS IL5 single tenant architecture.

  • Hands‑on expertise in Azure, especially in IL5 or IL6 government environments
  • Proficient with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Azure Well‑Architected Framework
  • Deep skills in Azure, Terraform/Bicep, networking, automation, and security
  • Familiar with Ansible, PowerShell DSC, and modern development tools/languages
  • Must hold at least one relevant certification (e.g., Azure Architect, Azure Engineer, CISSP)
  • Active Secret or higher security clearance required
