Job summary

Bonnell Aluminum is seeking a Senior CAD Operator to support the Sales & Marketing Team, onsite in Newnan, GA. You will design and process approval prints, support Customer Account Representatives, and coordinate with manufacturing to update product designs.

Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential, with Inventor/SolidWorks used to extract 2D data from 3D models. The role includes quoting support, customer communications, and acting as a resource to the team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years AutoCAD/drafting experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical drafting principles.
• CAD/Drafting credential or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Re-engineer products with customer feedback for enhanced reliability.
• Confirm receipt of approval prints with the customer.
• Create initial drawings for quotation.
• Modify existing customer drawings.
• Use calipers and micrometers to create drawings from samples.
• Interpret manufacturing needs and discuss with the customer.
• Produce drawings for prospect quotations.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job description

The Senior CAD Operator is part of the Sales & Marketing Team, supporting Bonnell in serving existing customers, acquiring new business, and meeting group Key Result Areas. This position requires onsite presence. The primary responsibilities include designing and processing approval prints, providing support to Customer Account Representatives on die data, and coordinating with manufacturing to implement changes in product design as needed. The primary software used is AutoCAD for creating 2D drawings, with occasional use of Inventor and/or SolidWorks to extract 2D data from 3D models. The Senior CAD Operator also assists with quoting and follow-up communications with customers, acting as a resource to the Sales & Marketing Team.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

• Re-engineer products with customer feedback for enhanced reliability and consistency in extrusions.
• Confirm receipt of approval prints with the customer.
• Create initial drawings for quotation.
• Modify existing customer drawings.
• Use calipers, micrometers, and other equipment to create drawings from samples.
• Interpret manufacturing needs and concerns and discussing with the customer.
• Produce drawing for prospect quotations.
• Performs other duties as required.

What You'll Need To Have:

• CAD/Drafting Diploma, Training and/or Certification or equivalent industry experience
• Knowledge of mechanical drafting and principles
• 3+ years Auto-CAD/ drawing experience
• Excellent analytical problem-solving skills
• Results-oriented and customer-focused
• Motivated self-starter who can manage multiple tasks with minimum supervision.

It Would Be Great If You Have:

• 5+ years AutoCAD experience
