Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. in Mobile, AL is seeking a Cabin Design Engineer to advance cabin interiors and payload integration from concept to installation.

You will independently perform design, analysis, and data integration, balancing supplier reviews, PN/BOM steering, and PLM data management. The role requires a BS in Engineering and at least nine years of experience in cabin interiors or related fields, plus hands-on FAL or MRO exposure and airline collaboration.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace).
  • Nine+ years of design, analysis, and systems/structural integration experience.
  • Experience with configuration management, engineering change tracking, and part structures in an aerospace Design Office.

Responsibilities

  • Autonomously perform design integration and layout maturation using 3D modeling.
  • Manage PN/BOM data and configuration tracking within PLM tools.
  • Review supplier documents for airworthiness certification and compliance.
  • Lead engineering change packages and coordinate with suppliers on drawings and interface data.
  • Coordinate with cabin interior suppliers to review drawings and 3D models.
  • Provide FAL/MRO support and troubleshoot shop-floor issues.
  • Lead project deliverables and ensure timely supplier documentation.
  • Prepare and customize complex technical documents and airline specifications.
  • Facilitate cross-functional integration discussions and status updates.
  • Drive continuous improvement of PLM workflows and processes.

Assignments include detail part integration, clearance/clash analysis, and trade study evaluations.Configuration & Part Number Steering: Exercise independence in determining technical objectives and assignments while managing and steering part numbers (PNs) and Bill of Materials (BOM) within PLM tools.
