Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. is seeking a Sr. SAP Business Analyst to join the DFA Shared Applications Team.

You will specialize in SAP Production Planning (PP/PP-PI) for process manufacturing, partnering with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, warehouse, finance and IT to deliver reliable planning and execution capabilities. As the functional SME, you will configure SAP modules, support project teams, provide go-live and post-go-live support, and guide user training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• 10+ years implementing SAP PP-PI in process manufacturing.
• Minimum two full SAP PP/PP-PI implementation lifecycles.

Job description

The Sr. SAP Business Analyst will participate in a cross-functional team environment as part of the DFA Shared Applications Team. This position will be responsible for becoming knowledgeable in design, implementation, enhancement, and day-to-day operation of SAP Production Planning for process manufacturing. The role partners with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, warehouse, finance, and IT teams to deliver reliable production planning and execution capabilities across the organization. This position serves as a functional subject matter expert for SAP PP and PP-PI, with emphasis on process orders, master recipes, bills of material, PI Sheets, material requirements planning, capacity planning, and SAP Fiori applications.

The candidate will interact with key business users to configure and enhance SAP business applications as needed to meet business requirements. This includes supporting our project teams, providing input on system design, integration testing, user training, and post go-live support. The candidate will also provide day-to-day production support, including coordination with team members and external consultants. The candidate will follow approved DFA project management and governance standards.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Own and support end-to-end SAP Production Planning and Production Execution processes in a process-industry environment, including demand management, MRP, planned orders, process orders, staging, confirmations, goods movements, and settlement integration.
• Configure and support SAP PP and PP-PI capabilities based on approved business processes and solution design standards.
• Design, configure, and maintain PP-PI master data and execution objects, including material masters, bills of material (BOMs), master recipes, production versions, resources/work centers, capacities, control recipes, and PI Sheets.
• Partner with manufacturing and operations teams to define process order execution, operator instructions, data collection, phase confirmations, yield and scrap reporting, and exception-handling requirements.
• Lead MRP design and optimization, including planning strategies, lot-sizing procedures, procurement proposals, planning time fences, safety stock, scheduling parameters, exception messages, and MRP troubleshooting.
• Support finite and infinite capacity planning, resource utilization analysis, capacity evaluation, leveling, and alignment of production plans with available labor and equipment capacity.

• Use and support SAP Fiori applications for production planning and execution, including role-based user experience, analytical views, monitoring, approvals, and exception management where applicable.
• Provide production support to end users, analyze incidents and recurring issues, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate resolution with internal teams and onshore/offshore partners.
• Collaborate across SAP functional areas, including MM, QM, WM, SD, PM, FI/CO, product costing, batch management, and shopfloor or manufacturing integration solutions.
• Recommend SAP best practices and process improvements that enhance planning accuracy, production visibility, execution discipline, traceability, and user experience.
• Ability to gather business requirements and transform them into SAP business application processes that can be implemented and supported.
• Coordinate or active participation with Shared Applications team members or business users in the analysis, design, development, documentation, performance testing, and implementation of technical business solutions.
• Ability to define, gather, and load the master data needed to support applications delivered.
• Follow DFA Development, Governance and Project Management standards.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 10+ years of experience implementing and supporting SAP Production Planning, including substantial hands-on experience with SAP PP-PI in a process-manufacturing environment
• At least two full SAP PP or PP-PI implementation life cycle, from requirements and solution design through testing, cutover, go-live, and post-production support
• Hands-on configuration and support experience with process orders, BOMs, master recipes, production versions, PI Sheets, resources/work centers, and production confirmations
• Strong hands-on MRP experience, including planning parameters, planning strategies, exception analysis, scheduling, lot sizing, and resolution of planning issues
• Experience with capacity planning, capacity evaluation, and capacity leveling for production resources
• Experience with SAP Fiori applications supporting production planning, production execution, or manufacturing analytics
• Strong knowledge of SAP integration points with MM, QM, WM, SD, PM, FI/CO, product costing, and batch management
• Experience in food, dairy, beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, consumer products, or another regulated process industry is preferred
• Production support experience in a multi-site manufacturing environment is preferred
