Job description

Description

Come build the future with us! Amazon Ads is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to develop and maintain automated data pipelines to create business insights that will support the Product Marketing organization. What unites all Amazonians (across teams and geographies) is that we are all striving to delight customers and make their lives easier - whoever that customer may be. In pursuit of delighting customers, Amazonians have developed many products and services that transformed the way our customers live their lives and run their businesses. Together, we are building the future, one innovative product, service, and idea at a time. Amazon Ads is dedicated to driving measurable outcomes for brand advertisers, agencies, authors, publishers, and entrepreneurs. Our ad solutions - including retail media, display, video, DSP, measurement, and ad tech solutions - leverage Amazon’s innovations and insights to find, attract, and engage intended audiences throughout their daily journeys. The Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer is a critical role in helping the Product Marketing organization define and build new data infrastructure to better understand the impact that we deliver for our customers. This role will define requirements to align disparate data sets, build and manage ongoing reporting of Product Marketing analytics, provide user requirements to product and engineering teams to streamline data management (metadata, taxonomy), and work cross-functionally with Product Marketing stakeholders to build solutions that can minimize manual or redundant workflows. This role requires a mix of data expertise and a strong operational mindset. This role will have high-visibility and an opportunity to regularly communicate results to leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Own the design, development and maintenance of scalable data solutions for ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. that support analytical and business needs
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in data engineering, reporting and analysis: data integrity, design, analysis, validation, and documentation
  • Use analytical and statistical rigor to answer business questions and drive business decisions
  • Find and create ways to measure the customer experience using an array of datasets to drive business outcomes
  • Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting
  • Drive data governance methodologies across the Amazon Ads portfolio to ensure best practices for tracking product performance
  • Write queries and output efficiently, and have in-depth knowledge of the data available in area of expertise. Pull the data needed with standard query syntax; periodically identify more advanced methods of query optimization. Convert data to make it analysis-ready
  • Review, audit, and maintain existing ETL jobs and queries
  • Scope new datasets from both internal and external data sources that contribute to a holistic view of Ads product performance
