KPMG is currently seeking a Sr. Backup Administrator to join our Digital Nexus technology organization. This is a hybrid work opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate customer needs based on application requirements, current capacity and growth trends; deliver engineering specifications, assist with functional specifications, and collaborate on technical design and specifications for projects and initiatives
  • Analyze, design, test, document, and implement solutions for continuous data availability, integrity, backup and protection
  • Provide technical services for customers in a highly complex backup environment, assess technical impact to projects or new technology, and identify technical risks
  • Resolve complex problems with minimal guidance; research independently and promote specialized technical solutions
  • Design and implement new data protection solutions, manage change, and add backup policies in a large-scale, mission-critical, multi-PB storage environment
  • Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors
  • Uphold KPMG’s values of integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility in the workplace
Qualifications
  • Minimum three years of recent experience in backup engineering in an IT environment with knowledge of Rubrik, StorageGrid, Symantec NetBackup and DataDomain, and related backup technologies
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
  • Knowledge of storage solutions from EMC, NetApp, Pure and similar technologies
  • Background in enterprise data protection, management and protection solutions; experience with enterprise data protection and disaster recovery, and understanding of enterprise application data management requirements
  • Ability to work under pressure in environments dealing with ambiguity; strong organizational skills
  • Excellent planning, interpersonal, problem solving, leadership, and communication skills (verbal and written); demonstrated active listening skills
