You will work closely with a small, high-ownership group shipping real features, solving hard problems, and helping shape the technical direction of our products powering managed services, integrations, automation, monitoring and observability. This is a hands‑on role for a senior developer who takes pride in building reliable, secure, and performant backend systems that matter.

Objectives of this Role

Design, build, and maintain robust backend services and APIs that power core product functionality.

Write clean, performant Go (Golang) code across critical product systems.

Own database design and query optimization (SQL and ClickHouse) to support scale and reliability.

Collaborate with the engineering team to define and continuously evolve backend architecture best practices.

Debug and resolve production issues from application bugs to infrastructure‑level network and API problems.

Help establish and evangelize engineering best practices as the team and product scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, maintainable REST and gRPC APIs.
• Write and review Go code with a focus on performance, readability, and long‑term maintainability.
• Architect and optimize SQL database schemas, indexes, and queries for production workloads.
• Build and maintain observability integrations using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry (OTEL) including traces, metrics, and structured logs.
• Deploy and operate backend services on Kubernetes (k8s) and AWS, ensuring reliability and uptime.
• Identify and resolve production issues proactively, including latency, connectivity, and API failure modes.

Security & API Integrity

• Apply secure coding practices across all backend systems including input validation, auth/authz, and secrets management.
• Implement and maintain API security controls for OAuth2, JWT, rate limiting, and least‑privilege design patterns.
• Perform network, HTTP, and API troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve protocol‑level issues.
• Integrate security considerations into architecture decisions and code review processes.

Tooling & AI Integration

• Leverage AI Coding Agents and Platforms along with their extensibility model (skills, hooks, plugins, and MCP servers) to accelerate developer workflows.
• Build or customize internal developer tooling to improve team productivity and reduce toil.
• Integrate LLM APIs (Claude or similar) into backend systems where applicable, applying agentic patterns including tool use, multi‑step reasoning, and context management.
• Support analytical workload needs using ClickHouse schema design and query optimization.

Technical Skills Required

• 5+ years of proficiency in Go (Golang) including idiomatic usage, concurrency patterns, and production‑grade service development.
• 5+ years of SQL database experience with schema design, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
• Proven track record building and maintaining REST or gRPC APIs at production scale.
• Solid understanding of secure coding practices with experience in input validation, auth/authz, and secrets management.
• API security experience in OAuth2, JWT, rate limiting, and least‑privilege API design.
• Experience with network, HTTP, and API troubleshooting and diagnosing latency, connectivity, and protocol‑level issues.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD pipeline and testing to ensure high velocity and quality of shipped packages.
• Experience with ClickHouse schema design and query optimization for analytical workloads.

Nice to Have

• Hands‑on experience with monitoring and observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar).
• Experience with OpenTelemetry (OTEL) instrumentation, distributed traces, metrics, and logs.
• Experience deploying and operating services on Kubernetes (k8s) and AWS.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs (Claude or similar) into backend systems.
• Understanding of agentic patterns: tool use, multi‑step reasoning, and context management.
