Qualifications

Position Title : SR Azure Data Engineer

We are looking for an experienced technical lead with strong Azure Databricks Engineer expertise and twelve to fourteen years of overall experience to drive enterprise scale data engineering initiatives. The role focuses on designing optimizing and governing analytics solutions that enable payer domain stakeholders to make better decisions and deliver improved outcomes for members and communities.

Responsibilities
  • Design scalable Databricks based data engineering solutions that enable reliable ingestion transformation and consumption of large structured and unstructured datasets for analytics and reporting across the organization
  • Drive end to end implementation of Databricks workflows by defining robust notebooks jobs clusters and data pipelines that meet performance reliability and security requirements in a hybrid work environment
  • Collaborate closely with data architects product owners and business analysts to translate complex payer domain needs into actionable Databricks solutions that improve operational efficiency and member experience
  • Optimize Databricks runtime configurations storage formats and query patterns to reduce compute costs accelerate processing times and ensure efficient use of cloud resources
  • Implement rigorous coding standards testing practices and version control for Databricks notebooks and utilities to maintain high quality reusable and maintainable data engineering assets
  • Guide teams in adopting best practices for Delta Lake data modeling data partitioning and incremental processing so that downstream analytics and machine learning workloads operate with trusted and timely data
  • Coordinate with data governance and compliance stakeholders to enforce robust access controls lineage tracking and data quality checks within Databricks ensuring adherence to healthcare and payer regulatory expectations
  • Troubleshoot complex data pipeline issues by analyzing logs metrics and data anomalies in Databricks and drive root cause resolution that minimizes business disruption and improves system resilience
  • Mentor cross functional team members on Databricks features and modern data engineering techniques fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the enterprise
  • Collaborate with reporting and analytics teams to design semantic views and performant tables in Databricks that power self service insights for payer operations finance and care management functions
  • Evaluate new Databricks capabilities and related data engineering tools and propose pragmatic adoption strategies that align with enterprise architecture and deliver measurable business value
  • Coordinate hybrid work practices by maintaining efficient communication documentation and collaboration routines ensuring smooth project delivery without travel requirements
  • Contribute to organizational purpose by enabling data driven decisions that enhance payer program transparency reduce waste and improve health outcomes for members and communities
Qualifications
  • Possess twelve to fourteen years of progressive experience in data engineering or analytics with several years focused on driving complex initiatives using Databricks in large enterprises
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Databricks notebooks jobs clusters and Delta Lake including experience with performance tuning optimization and cost management for production workloads
  • Exhibit strong skills in designing data models data pipelines and batch or near real time processing patterns using Databricks along with common programming languages such as Python or SQL
  • Show familiarity with payer or broader healthcare data domains including claims eligibility and provider information enabling more relevant solution design and stakeholder communication
  • Apply solid understanding of data governance security controls and regulatory considerations within healthcare and payer environments when designing and operating Databricks solutions
  • Illustrate ability to work effectively in hybrid teams using collaborative tools and structured communication practices to manage requirements documentation and delivery milestones without travel
  • Display strong problem solving and analytical capabilities with a focus on measurable outcomes such as improved data quality reduced processing time and better decision support for business partners

The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 - $130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
