Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Sr. Azure Data Engineer to join our data platform team in the United States. The role requires hands-on work with Azure Databricks, Delta tables, Synapse, and Medallion Architecture to deliver scalable data pipelines.

You will participate in daily stand ups and scrum ceremonies, translate business needs into technical specs, and guide offshore developers while ensuring quality through unit testing and deployment coordination.

Qualifications

• Experience in Azure Databricks is mandatory.
• Expertise and knowledge of Medallion Architecture is required.
• Good understanding of Delta tables, Synapse and data partitioning on Azure cloud.

Sr. Azure Data Engineer

Roles & responsibilities:

• Will be working as a Azure Data Engineer
• Should attend daily stand ups/ scrum calls/ quarterly PI
• Work with BSA and product team to understand project requirements.
• Create technical specification and source-to-target design mapping documents
• Write or understand Java/Pyspark code written on Daabricks platform, perform unit testing and work with QA & Business testers for defect resolution
• Work with admins on code deployments
• Should coordinate and lead the offshore developers

Qualifications:

• Experience in Azure Databricks is mandatory
• Expertise and knowledge of Medallion Architecture is required
• Should possess good understanding of Delta tables, Synapse and data partitioning on azure cloud

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until Oct 25, 2026.

The annual salary for this position is between $80,000 - $130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
