Altera Corporation in San Jose, CA seeks a senior AWS Cloud Engineer/Architect to design, deploy, and optimize scalable AWS infrastructure supporting enterprise apps and HPC workloads. You will drive IaC using Terraform, automate deployments, and ensure security and reliability across environments.

You will collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity teams to deliver high-performance storage and compute, while optimizing costs and resilience in a hybrid cloud setting.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in infrastructure, systems, cloud engineering, or related technical roles.
• 5+ years of hands-on AWS infrastructure engineering and production operations.
• Strong AWS networking, compute, storage, identity, security, and monitoring knowledge.
• Ability to independently design, deploy, and troubleshoot production AWS environments.
• Hands-on Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Python, Bash, or similar scripting proficiency.
• Linux administration; TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPN, firewalls, and hybrid connectivity.
• CI/CD, Git workflows, infrastructure automation, incident management, RCA, and disaster recovery.
• Strong technical ownership, documentation, and cross-functional communication.
• Experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting HPC clusters or batch-compute environments in AWS or hybrid infrastructure.
• Experience implementing and optimizing high-performance shared storage (FSx Lustre, EFS, NFS, etc.).
