Job description

Long Wall Company was created in 2024 to accelerate missile defense technology for the U.S. and our allies. Building on the RS1 and GS0 launch systems, Long Wall develops containerized, mass‑producible missile defense systems and offers rapid, low‑cost flight testing. We believe that the future of global security and stability requires defensive technology that is lower cost, higher performing, better tested, and more broadly distributed than is possible today. Join us.

What we look for
  • Mission-Driven Problem Solvers. The aerospace frontier demands ingenuity. We want Team members who approach challenges with curiosity, embrace failure as a learning opportunity, and stay focused on delivering the best solution for the mission.
  • Total Ownership. We seek staff and engineers who take full responsibility for contributing to and delivering flight‑ready work while recognizing that no one succeeds alone. The best engineers, corporate professionals, and technicians make their teammates better. Knowing that complementary skills create force multiplication and drive mission success.
SR. AVIONICS DEVELOPMENT TECHNICIAN

We are looking for an experienced avionics technician (S4 or S5) who is excited about manufacturing development and production hardware for launch vehicles and defense systems. We seek team members who can think critically to improve hardware designs and manufacturing processes, and deliver high‑quality hardware to our programs.

Avionics technicians build and test components and electrical assemblies for our launch vehicles and defense systems. Avionics technicians are responsible for a broad range of responsibilities, including PCB assembly and rework, electro‑mechanical assemblies, sensors/transducers, cable and wire harnessing, final integration, operating thermal chambers, functional testing, and performing software‑driven tests.

  • Assemble electro‑mechanical components along with the building of circuit boards and small electrical assemblies.
  • Fabricate high quality, high reliability cable and wire harnesses.
  • Operate complex automated equipment, including routine inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Document anomalies and non‑conformities and associated rework to quickly return non‑conforming product back into normal workflow.
  • Perform functional testing of built hardware, including setups, instrumentation, test execution, create/upload reports, and teardown.
  • Ensure lab equipment, tooling and consumables available and maintained to a high standard.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and test engineers to provide input and develop assembly processes and test procedures.
  • Assist with the development of production processes for first time production.
  • Instruct and mentor junior avionics technicians.
  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant hands‑on technician work experience in aerospace, aviation, military, telecommunications or similar industries. Including demonstrable working knowledge of, but not limited to: PCB, cable harness fabrication, electro‑mechanical, mechanical, integration assemblies, and prototype development.
  • Ability to perform assembly operations including bending, crimping, grasping, pulling, reflowing, sitting, soldering, standing, stooping, stretching, stripping, and torquing.
  • Proficient usage of a PC; experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word), shop floor management software (ERP) and related programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, and organizational skills, and high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to read/interpret and work from controlled technical documentation and processes such as engineering drawings, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, assembly procedures, manufacturing instructions, schematics, and parts lists.
  • Skills in operating and manipulating automated machinery and various mechanical and electronic hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity with minimal instruction.
  • Strong emphasis on safety, cleanliness, adherence to corporate policies and standards, a great attitude, and the ability to effectively work with a team.
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high‑paced, challenging flight production clean room environment.
  • 1+ years of experience working at a rocket launch facility and supporting launch campaigns.
