Job summary

BAL is a leading immigration services firm focused on delivering exceptional client outcomes. We seek an experienced QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated tests for web apps and backend data validation using Playwright and TypeScript.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement API and UI automation, and help integrate testing into our CI/CD processes. BAL offers a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of Quality Assurance with a strong focus on end-to-end automation testing.
• 5+ years of Web GUI and API automation.
• 3+ years of hands-on Playwright with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Strong SQL experience for validating large datasets.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for test automation.
• Familiarity with Playwright MCP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for web applications and backend data validation using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with QA Lead to enhance and maintain automated GUI tests within our framework.
• Develop automation scripts to validate key regression flows across Front End, APIs and Data validations.
• Implement automated checks for data completeness and format validation.
• Participate in design and execution of comprehensive automation test strategies.
• Analyze requirements, design test scenarios, and provide feedback to improve coverage and quality.
• Collaborate with DevOps to integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for web applications and backend data validation using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with the QA Lead to enhance and maintain automated GUI tests using our existing custom framework.
• Develop automation scripts to validate key regression flows in the application covering multiple layers, Front End, APIs and Data validations
• Implement automated checks for data completeness, format validation, and cross-referencing with expected results to identify discrepancies.
• Participate in designing and executing comprehensive automation test strategies to maximize test coverage.
• Analyze application requirements, design and execute test scenarios, and provide feedback to improve overall test coverage and product quality.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with a strong focus on end-to-end automation testing.
• 5+ years of experience in Web GUI and API automation.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Playwright using JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Strong experience with SQL for querying and validating large datasets.
• Strong experience working with CI/CD pipelines for test automation
• Familiarity with Playwright MCP is a plus.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
