Job summary

Lucid is seeking a Sr Automation Engineer, Test and Validation to join the LV Test & Validation group. You will design automated tests for DVT and compliance, and develop an integrated automated test system for environmental and electrical testing.

The role requires strong expertise in HW/SW testing, embedded software development for test infrastructure, and hands-on ownership in a fast-paced environment. Automotive experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• At least 5 years of experience in HW testing and test automation (Automotive is a plus).
• Experience implementing and deploying fully automated test scripts for DV/DVT testing.
• Strong background in HW/SW testing and environmental, electrical, and functional validation.
• Ability to review schematics and develop embedded software to control defined functions.

We are currently seeking a Sr Automation Engineer, Test and Validation to join the LV Test & Validation organization to help drive the successful, on‑time execution of DVP activities. The Role

Designing/implementing automated test scripts for executing DVT and Compliance test cases and generating summary reports. Design and take ownership of a unified automated test system for controlling load simulators, thermal chambers, power supplies, DAQ units, and other equipment used in environmental and electrical testing.

Develop embedded test software for in‑house designed test simulator to streamline and improve ECU testing.

Supporting and assisting test engineers to develop test plans, define setups, procure equipment, debug issues, and analyze complex test data.

Qualifications

Extensive experience developing and deploying fully automated test scripts for executing DV/DVT test cases.

Strong background in both HW and SW testing, including environmental, electrical, and functional validation.

Demonstrated ability to design, analyze, and optimize test procedures to minimize measurement error and improve repeatability.

Ability to review schematics and develop embedded software to control defined functions.

Knowledge of industrial control systems and communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, CAN, SPI, I2C, LIN, RS‑232, and high‑speed interfaces such as Gigabit Ethernet and FPD‑Link.

Experience in developing embedded software with various chipsets such as NXP.

Proficiency with measurement automation tools and scripting languages such as, C/C++, Python, and Labview.

Familiarity with EMC/EMI test environment is a PLUS

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science (MS preferred).

At least 5 years of experience in HW testing and test automation (Automotive is a plus).

Salary Range

The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job‑related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Base Pay Range (Annual) $144,000 - $198,000 USD

Compensation & Benefits

Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Hourly/non‑exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off. Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program. Incentive and equity awards, if applicable, are determined based on individual performance, role scope, market considerations, and overall company results, in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
