Job summary

LG Display America, Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Program Manager to own and drive cross‑functional programs across the product life cycle for automotive initiatives.

You will coordinate teams at multiple sites to meet quality, schedule, and cost targets, while ensuring SQMS compliance and adherence to industry standards. The role requires strong project leadership, deep knowledge of ISO 17025 and IATF 16949, and the ability to communicate with global clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in quality, engineering or related field is required.
  • 10+ years in automotive with at least 5+ years in related field.
  • Proven history of managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; translate quality topics for varied audiences.
  • Solid understanding of quality systems and regulations (ISO 17025, IATF 16949, etc.).
  • Effective program management across functions and sites.
  • Growth mindset and business insight.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with quality tools (Six Sigma, VDA 6.3, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel for business objectives.
  • English proficiency; bilingual in Korean and English preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage assigned programs across the product life cycle from launch to post-production.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to meet timing, quality and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Lead change management and ensure alignment with design, specs, cost and timing.
  • Manage series production including claims, changes, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure SQMS compliance and automotive standards (IATF 16949, Automotive SPICE, ISO 17025).
  • Define test strategy; identify failures and root causes; recommend fixes.
  • Create scripts/tools to improve testing efficiency; write validation reports and procedures.
  • Maintain and manage test bench equipment; conduct market and quality reporting.
  • Travel to manufacturing sites or HQ to support customer visits and reviews.
  • Represent LG Display during customer visits to ensure productive engagements.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for any business-related issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Function as a liaison between customers and internal teams, facilitating clear and timely communication.
  • Work closely with Headquarters (HQ) to monitor and resolve issues and to ensure alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide regular updates to HQ on program quality status, customer feedback, and potential risks and challenges.
  • Clarify customer requirements through detailed discussions and documentation.
  • Provide tailored solutions to address both business, technical, and quality-related challenges.
  • Assist customers in resolving technical and operational issues, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Collaborate with customer support, quality teams, and engineering teams to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Evaluate the status of mass production quality, support customer quality targets, and maintain qualification for new business in a timely manner.
  • Ensure alignment with customer expectations and delivery of quality controls and resolutions.
  • Manage and resolve mass production issues, ensuring customer demand is met efficiently and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Survey local sorting service providers in response to HQ quality requests and assess the current status of new vendors.
  • Conduct regular on‑site inspections for vendor management.
  • Arrange and facilitate meetings for design, technology promotion, process, and business discussions between LG Display and customers.
  • Ensure stakeholders are aligned on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Supervise and coordinate local staff for executive management meetings and daily operations, including customs clearance, shipment tracking, and sample/service/seed stock orders.
  • Conduct business trips to manufacturing sites or HQ to support customer visits and project reviews.
  • Function as a key representative during customer visits, ensuring a positive and productive experience.
  • Supervise local staff in daily operations such as SPPS/Q‑dap, defect sample shipment tracking, and sample/service/seed stock status, and ensure all administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Perform monthly closing activities, including customer quality reporting, open issue management, and performance tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify industry trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape.
  • Prepare detailed quality reports and presentations for senior management, providing actionable insights.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Own and manage assigned programs across the product life cycle, including award, development, supplier selection, launch, series production, and post‑production performance.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams to achieve program objectives related to timing, quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish, maintain and monitor top‑level program plans, including customer milestones, internal deliverables and resource requirements.
  • Lead global change management processes, ensuring alignment with design, specifications, cost and timing commitments.
  • Manage the series production phase, including claims management, change execution, continuous improvement initiatives, and commercial negotiations.
  • Ensure programs are executed in accordance with Supplier Quality Management System (SQMS) requirements and applicable automotive standards (IATF 16949, Automotive SPICE, ISO 17025).
  • Define test strategy based on requirements and specifications for automotive products.
  • Identify failures, determine root cause issues and recommend fixes.
  • Create scripts and tools to improve testing efficiency.
