Job summary

Savista is seeking an inpatient coding auditor to support facility reporting and education for coders and providers in a healthcare setting. The role requires experience with MS-DRG, APR-DRG, IPPPS, APC and RBRVS, and strong knowledge of ICD-10/CPT-4 codes.

The candidate will work in a Windows-based virtual office, ensure data confidentiality, and contribute to process improvements across audits and client services.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in inpatient auditing.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10/CPT-4 codes.
• Detail oriented with ability to work independently.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient coding audits for facility reporting.

• Analyzes audit results to identify patterns and opportunities for coder improvement.

• Utilizes coding books, procedure manuals and online encoders as references.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and follows all guidelines for release of information.
• Maintains current knowledge of PCS and ICD-10 coding principles and regulations.

• Performs inpatient coding audits for facility reporting

• Has the ability to analyze audit results identifying patterns, trends, and key problematic areas with the ability to communicate specific opportunities for coder improvement initiatives
• Utilizes a mini desktop computer in a virtual office, windows-based environment
• Utilizes various coding books, procedure manuals and on-line encoders as a resource
• Must be customer-service focused and exhibit professionalism, flexibility, dependability, desire to learn, commitment to excellence and commitment to profession
• Maintains strict patient and physician confidentiality and follows all federal, state and hospital guidelines for release of information
• Maintains current working knowledge of PCS and ICD-10 coding principles, government regulation, protocols

Minimum Qualifications:

• RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS/P or CPC
• 3+ years' experience in inpatient auditing skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and/or CPT-4 codes
• Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work independently
• Computer knowledge of MS Office

Savista is required by state-specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is $75,000-85,000 annually. However, specific compensation for the role will vary within the above range based on many factors including but not limited to geographic location, candidate experience, applicable certifications, and skills.
