Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a Software Engineer to join a high-performing IT team focused on delivering reliable digital products. You will design, build, test, and document code, APIs, and automation to support business processes and customer experiences across platforms.

The role emphasizes collaboration, secure coding, and continuous improvement, with exposure to cloud and DevOps practices. A Bachelor’s degree and 1+ year of production experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions in production environments.

• Writes, tests, and documents technical work products (e.g., code, scripts, processes) according to organizational standards.

• Addresses issues affecting operational reliability, stability, and performance based on telemetry.

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
• 1+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions in production environments

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
• Airline Industry experience
