Job summary

TechDigital Group in Charlotte, NC, seeks a senior AI/ML engineer focused on cognitive engineering. You will spend most of your time building AI-powered capabilities on internal platforms, shaping our cognitive layer that transforms how engineering teams operate.

This role demands a strong AI/ML engineering mindset with operational context to automate and optimize AI workflows, plus experience mentoring offshore engineers and delivering scalable AI solutions across AWS, CI/CD, and data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 10+ years software engineering experience, with 4+ years in AI/ML or LLM-based systems
• Python (FastAPI, Pydantic, boto3) and TypeScript (React, Node.js)
• Strong AI/ML experience — LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, embeddings, vector search
• Experience building AI pipelines — model orchestration, token management, confidence scoring, intelligence buildouts
• AWS fundamentals — ECS/Fargate, Lambda, DynamoDB, IAM, CloudWatch, EventBridge
• CI/CD pipeline experience — GitLab CI (or similar), environment management
• Experience mentoring or leading offshore engineers
• Strong verbal and written communication

Responsibilities

Position focused primarily on AI and Cognitive Engineering. You will spend the majority of your time building AI-powered capabilities on internal platforms — our cognitive layer that is transforming how engineering teams operate. The remaining time supports production infrastructure and release processes, ensuring you stay grounded in the systems your AI work automates. This role requires a strong AI/ML engineering mindset with enough operational context to build effective automation.

Mandatory Skills

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years in AI/ML or LLM-based systems
• Python (FastAPI, Pydantic, boto3) and TypeScript (React, Node.js)
