Prime Video Search Science team at Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an Applied Scientist to own machine learning projects end-to-end, delivering state-of-the-art AI solutions for Prime Video search across devices. You will work hands-on as ML practitioner and research leader, bringing impact to millions of customers.

You will design and run offline/online experiments, collaborate with engineers and product managers, publish findings, and stay ahead with latest modeling techniques.

Qualifications

PhD or Master’s degree with 6+ years of applied research experience.
5+ years building machine learning models for business applications.
Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.

Responsibilities

Develop AI solutions for Prime Video Search systems using Deep learning, GenAI, RL and optimization methods.
Collaborate with engineers and product managers to design, implement and launch AI solutions end-to-end.
Design and conduct offline and online experiments to evaluate proposed solutions based on data analyses.
Communicate technical ideas effectively with teammates and stakeholders.
Stay up-to-date with advancements in modeling techniques and publish research findings.

Key job responsibilities

Develop AI solutions for various Prime Video Search systems using Deep learning, GenAI, Reinforcement Learning, and optimization methods;
Work closely with engineers and product managers to design, implement and launch AI solutions end-to-end;
Design and conduct offline and online (A/B) experiments to evaluate proposed solutions based on in-depth data analyses;
Effectively communicate technical and non-technical ideas with teammates and stakeholders;
Stay up-to-date with advancements and the latest modeling techniques in the field;
Publish your research findings in top conferences and journals.

About The Team

Prime Video Search Science team owns science solution to power search experience on various devices, from sourcing, relevance, ranking, to name a few. We work closely with the engineering teams to launch our solutions in production.

Basic Qualifications

PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
5+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc.
Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
