Job summary

Amazon in the United States is hiring a Sr Applied Scientist for FAIM (Full Funnel Agentic Intelligence and Models). This role focuses on ground-up innovation in ads with agentic AI-powered models, tackling green-field problems in vertical ad products.

You will drive evaluations of the Ads Agent, collaborate with senior scientists to set best practices for online and offline testing, and deliver a strong data-driven foundation to decide when new features are ready to launch.

Qualifications

• PhD or master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Proven ability to develop and evaluate ML models at scale.

We have ambitious vision to simplify full funnel advertising solutions, at scale, with specialized agentic AI-powered models and diversify the demand to strategic verticals including finserv, autos, locals.. etc.

We are seeking an experienced Applied Scientist to drive innovation in our Ads Foundational Model. In this individual contributor role, you will apply advanced machine learning techniques to improve advertiser performance and customer experience.

• Drive the science vision for developing evaluations of the Ads Agent
• Partner with senior and principal scientists from across Ads to develop best practices for evaluating agent performance both online and offline
• Raise the science bar for all agent evaluations developed in Ads.
• Deliver a data driven foundation for making decisions about when new features are ready to launch in Ads Agent.

Basic Qualifications

• PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc.
• Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
