Job summary

Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Applications Engineer to define automotive power management products and translate market needs into differentiated system-level solutions.

You will interact with customer and field teams, develop reference designs, and author technical publications, supporting product development from concept to deployment. You will collaborate with engineering to ensure timely execution, broaden knowledge of ADAS/infotainment applications, and travel to customer

Qualifications

• 5+ years work experience in power management IC product development or hardware engineering.
• Strong understanding of analog/mixed-signal ICs.
• Experience promoting ICs and driving design wins with system solutions.
• Automotive applications experience a plus.
• ISO26262 functional safety experience a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and executive audiences.
• Ability to work in teams across regions and functions.
• Strong time management and initiative to drive results.

Responsibilities

• Define automotive power management products that offer differentiated system-level advantages.
• Communicate with customer engineers, field application engineers, and sales to understand market requirements.
• Develop and maintain deep understanding of automotive applications including ADAS, infotainment, Telematics, lighting and more.
• Collaborate with design, product, test and application engineers throughout product development to ensure execution to plan.
• Develop customized solutions and reference designs as needed.
• Author articles, application notes, and whitepapers for publication.
• Assist design and application engineers in evaluating and debugging new ICs.
• Provide lab characterization support and report root causes of failures.
• Share insights from customer support to influence new products and applications.
• Provide technical training to field teams and customers.
• Occasional domestic and international travel (10-20%).
