Honeywell in Houston seeks a Sr. Application Engineer to drive complex turbomachinery control projects from inquiry to order, delivering technically sound and commercially viable solutions.

You will review specs, collaborate with engineering teams, and guide pricing and terms, while traveling up to 10% and supporting field sales. We value hands-on experience in gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, and related controls, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of turbomachinery controls engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of turbomachinery applications (gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, and related control systems).

Responsabilités

• Execute complex proposals from inquiry to order, managing scope, cost, cycle and risk to win orders.
• Review technical specifications, terms, and conditions for control system design, hardware, P&IDs and related documents.
• Collaborate with Project Engineering and SMEs on technical solution preparation.
• Create and maintain an efficient inquiry handling and proposal generation system to reflect technical and commercial needs.
• Negotiate terms with customers and guide Account Managers on T&Cs before Contract Management escalation.
• Control pricing within guidelines and track deviations in the DOA process.
• Track proposal turnaround efficiency and quality using existing tools.
• Ensure HOF process to the Execution Team is followed to meet project execution requirements.
• Assist in reviewing existing installations for process improvements and site surveys.
• Attend site surveys and manage technical/ commercial bid clarifications.
• Provide technical support for sales, reps and customers and assist order-entry.
• Travel 10% and participate in site visits.
• This position is incentive plan eligible.

The Sr. Application Engineer is responsible for the successful execution of the commercial Operations process in a given region.

The Sr. Application Sales Engineer will exhibit genuine interest in solving work problems through proactively asking questions, clearly communicating and collaborating both internally and externally to grow the business. In addition, the Sr. Application Sales Engineer is responsible for understanding our competition and customers and showing initiative to learn and continuously improve company processes.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the successful execution of proposals from Inquiry to Order, with particular emphasis on very complex project proposals. Accountable to ensure that scope, cost, cycle, legal, and commercial risk are managed while winning orders.
• Review of technical specifications, terms, and conditions for job proposal and contracts that includes preliminary control system design, hardware requirements, tool development, control system diagram generation and description, control narrative, network architecture generation, P&IDs review and as needed engineering studies and design documents to generate basis of design documents for successful projects.
• Collaboration and seeking support as needed from Project Engineering team and SMEs in the technical solution preparation
• Creates and maintains an efficient system of inquiry handling and proposal generation to ensure that RFQs are comprehensively completed to properly reflect the technical and commercial needs of the project as well as overseeing the quoting process to ensure process adherence.
• Proactively negotiating T&Cs with customers and providing guidance to Account Managers on T&Cs prior to escalation to Contract Management.
• Controls pricing within published guidelines and handles all requests for discounts and any other deviations in the DOA process. Ensures that pricing deviations is properly approved and tracked, per the delegation of authority matrix and bid approval process.
• Tracks proposal turnaround efficiency and quality within leveraging existing tools
• Ensures that the HOF process to the Execution Team is followed and in compliance to fully meet Project Execution requirements.
• Assist in the review of existing customer installations to look for process improvements and related economical justifications and with site surveys
• Attend site surveys, customer bid clarification meetings and manage technical and commercial bid clarifications
• Provide technical support for sales employees, representatives and customers and information to order-entry group
• Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Travel 10%
• This position is incentive plan eligible.

Must Have

• 5 or more years of experience in turbomachinery controls engineering or a related controls/automation field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of turbomachinery applications (gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, and related control systems).
