Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hands-on software development experience building and supporting enterprise applications.
  • Strong experience with modern .NET web applications (.NET 8+, C#, ASP.NET Core).
  • Experience designing, building, and consuming REST API integrations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL, stored procedures, query tuning, and schema design.
  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps source control, work item tracking, build, and release pipelines.
  • Experience with OO design, SOLID, and common design patterns.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

  • Develop, configure, and support third-party application customizations and integrations using vendor SDKs and REST APIs.
  • Author solution design and technical design documents.
  • Work with Architecture team and follow approved architectural standards.
  • Perform peer code reviews and ensure adherence to coding, security, and quality standards.
  • Handle escalated production issues, root-cause analysis, and bug fixes across owned applications and integrations.
  • Drive and participate in development process improvements, including CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, branching strategies in Git, and release management practices.
  • Partner with project teams, business stakeholders, and end users to refine requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment runbooks, and knowledge-base articles to support long-term application sustainability.
  • Apply secure development practices throughout the application lifecycle.

Job description

The Senior Application Developer is a senior-level, technical role responsible for the design, development, integration, and ongoing support of business-critical applications supporting Targa's midstream operations. This is a hands‑on software engineering role that partners with technical leaders on assigned projects, interacting with business stakeholders, internal development team members, and external vendors to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.

The successful candidate will build and enhance modern .NET web applications, integrate enterprise systems using REST APIs, and work with data movement workflows using Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS. They will be expected to balance new feature development with technical debt reduction and continuous improvement.

JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and develop in‑house business applications using modern .NET, Microsoft SQL Server, and related Microsoft technologies.

Develop, configure, and support third‑party application customizations and integrations using vendor SDKs and REST APIs.

Author solution design and technical design documents.

Work with the Architecture team and follow approved architectural standards.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

10+ years of hands‑on software development experience building and supporting enterprise applications.

Strong development experience with modern .NET web applications (.NET 8+, C#, ASP.NET Core).

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and written/verbal communication skills.

Experience designing, building, and consuming REST API integrations.

Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, including T‑SQL, stored procedures, query tuning, and schema design.

Proficiency with Azure DevOps source control, work item tracking, build, and release pipelines.

Experience with development using object‑oriented design, SOLID principles, and common design patterns.

Regular and reliable attendance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Hands‑on experience with Boomi (or comparable iPaaS) for enterprise integrations.

Prior experience delivering applications used by midstream operators such as gas measurement and commercial settlement systems.

Strong knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) with Agile delivery methodologies.

Experience creating and maintaining unit tests, integration tests and automated testing.

Experience working with at least one modern web framework (Blazor, Angular, or React).

Openness to leveraging AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) in accordance with company policies.

Working knowledge of application security best practices (OWASP Top 10, secure coding, authentication/authorization patterns, secrets management).

Experience developing RPA solutions using Selenium, UIPath, or similar Automation/RPA tools.

Experience using Python and PowerShell for automation and operational support.

Experience with SSIS for ETL development and data integration.
